Hearth and Hamlet, with the 'th'. A hearth is the floor of a fireplace, which is where every run starts - a single campfire. 'Heart and Hamlet', 'hearht and hamlet' and 'hearth and hemlet' are all common misspellings that still find the same game on Steam.

A single-player medieval city-builder with incremental and idle mechanics, made by Phorust Studios and published by Runic Forge and Gamersky Games. You start with a campfire, assign workers to six resources, unlock buildings and research, pass policies, trade with four foreign kingdoms and end the run with a castle and a coronation.

$7.99 USD on Steam, listed at $7.19 with the 10% launch discount as of August 25, 2026. It is a one-time purchase - there is no subscription, no battle pass and no in-game store.

No. There is no code redemption screen in the game and the developers have never issued promo codes - it is a paid single-player title, so anything advertised as a 'Hearth and Hamlet code' is not from Phorust Studios. Progress comes from research, blueprints and trade instead.

Single-player only. The Steam store lists exactly one player mode plus Steam Achievements and Family Sharing, and there is no server component, so the game runs fully offline.

The demo ran from April 20, 2026 through the Steam Medieval Fest and Next Fest, but it is no longer listed on the store page as of August 25, 2026 - the 1.0 build replaced it. Save data from the demo does not carry into the full game.

Not at the moment - the only official release is on Steam for Windows and Linux, and no console or mobile version has been announced. The platforms page tracks every version question in one table.

Phorust Studios has not published a figure. As a reference point, a recorded start-to-finish run that reached a fully upgraded kingdom ran about three and a half hours, and 34.5% of all owners have finished the game on Gentle difficulty according to Steam's public achievement statistics.

There is a small r/hearthandhamlet subreddit created a few days after launch, and the game also gets discussed in r/incremental_games and r/CozyGamers. There is no wiki.gg or Fandom wiki for the game - the Steam discussion boards and the patch notes are the closest thing to primary documentation.

Both, partly. You click or hold to harvest resources yourself early on, but assigned workers keep producing while you plan, and the 'Hover to Click' option added in patch 1.0.01 removes the click-and-hold requirement entirely. Steam users tag it Incremental, City Builder and Idler.
